The Beretta A400 Xtreme Plus, with its rugged black synthetic stock, is an all-round, go-to semi-automatic shotgun that's well suited for nearly any type of hunting.
The A400 Extreme Plus shoots 2.75", 3", and 3.5" shells interchangeably without having to make adjustments. To hold up to long days of pounding heavy waterfowl loads, this shotgun features advanced recoil-reduction systems, such as Kick-Off Mega, Kick-Off3, and Soft-Comb stock, which reduce felt recoil by as much as 70%.
The barrel is made of Steelium Plus steel with an extended forcing cone for obtaining consistently tight and uniform shot patterns, a first for hunting shotguns providing the best patterning possible from all hunting loads, along with further felt recoil mitigation. The 7 x 7mm stepped rib has a wider plane, and an integral steel midbead and a fiber-optic front bead in order to ensure the proper fit and sight picture for all conditions.
Further enhancing the A400 Xtreme Plus is the addition of an extended charging handle and bolt release from the factory to facilitate easier manipulation and operation with cold, gloved hands during the coldest and rainiest day; and an expanded and beveled loading port reduces thumb bite, and also facilitates operation with gloved hands. The receiver is drilled and tapped to attach a Picatinny rail (rail not included).
The A400 action features a rotating bolt and a self-cleaning piston to ensure the shotgun operates in all conditions and is low in maintenance. Under field conditions, the A400 easily disassembles with no tools in a matter of seconds. The cross-bolt safety is positioned at the front of the trigger guard, where the hunter can find it instantaneously, and is reversible for right- and left-hand shooters.
