As the core model of the Magnum Light series designed for lightness and reeling response the Vanford is ideal for a wide range of fishing styles including technical and finesse. While the new model retains the light operability sensitivity and comfortable reeling feel of its predecessor it now features Infinity Cross and Infinity Drive for powerful reeling and improved gear durability. The use of highly abrasion-resistant Duracross has significantly improved drag durability approximately 10 times that of previous models according to Shimano standards. Furthermore the newly equipped anti-twist fins reduce line trouble further enhancing comfort. The lineup of 13 items including the newly released C2500SXG covers a wide range of fishing styles from area trout to shore jigging making it a perfect fit for a new era of lure fishing.

New possibilities brought about by the lightness of the rotor 
In games where agility is important the key is being able to freely control the lure's initial movement the sharpness of its action and the consistency of reeling. The Magnum Light series focuses on this and introduces the lightweight Magnum Light Rotor. By thoroughly eliminating unnecessary elements and achieving low inertia the initial and still reeling response is improved sharpening the angler's senses and operability.

Low inertia allows for reeling at will   
Low inertia means that the reel starts rotating with less force and can be controlled precisely when stopped with less force. This greatly improves the accuracy of lures that utilize both winding and stationary movements.    Compared to the 23 Stradic which is equipped with a rotor made of high-strength plastic the new Vanford which is equipped with a Magnum Light rotor achieves approximately 39% lower inertia.It fully demonstrates its advantages when fishing with lightweight lures at a dead slow speed or when rapidly alternating between reeling and stopping.    

A 34% lighter rotor creates a new style of play
The Magnum Light Rotor is significantly lighter than rotors made of metal or high-strength resin. The new Vanford Magnum Light Rotor is approximately 34% lighter than the 23 Stradic's high-strength resin rotor. This contributes greatly to improved lure control response and increased sensitivity in the angler's hands opening up new possibilities for gameplay.

Carbon fiber reinforced resin CI4+ for true weight reduction 
True lightweighting in reel design means achieving a new level of lightness without sacrificing strength or durability. Vanford aimed to resolve this contradiction by using Shimano's proprietary carbon fiber reinforced resin CI4+ for the body and rotor. Lightweight yet highly rigid CI4+ reduces distortion of the reel body and firmly protects the internal structure such as the gear meshing. This maintains smooth rotation and drag performance over the long term.

Lightness sensitivity and toughness. The core model of the MGL series has evolved in all respects.
The Vanford reel is the core of the Magnum Light series and has been supported by many anglers. The new model retains the HAGANE gear X Protect and Micro Module Gear II but is also generously equipped with new technologies found in higher-end models such as Infinity Cross Infinity Drive Anti-Twist Fins and Duracross. In addition to its well-known lightness response and sensitivity it has also evolved in strength and toughness.
