Thorough on-site refinement with testers to help you catch bigger fish than anyone else resulted in "stress-free lure operability" (Concept 1) allowing you to keep moving your lure comfortably all day in any situation.And "overwhelming fighting performance" (Concept 2) which demands the power to subdue hooked fish and the ability to control them. The development concept was to achieve both of these at a high level. The resulting rod boasts astonishing fighting power. It opens the door to extreme fishing with a new weapon.

Concept 1 : Stress-free lure operability
The key to shore jigging and plugging is constantly maneuvering the lure to seize the few bites you get. The main battlefield for rock shore fishing is the tidal rocks. Large plugs and jigs weighing over 100g are used. With these lures you can feel the current and lure the fish by sometimes applying sharp and sometimes gentle inputs. Any misaction is instantly detected. This technique which requires both physical strength and mental effort is no easy feat. Using a variety of lures in a variety of fields we meticulously refined the tip material and taper from various angles achieving a smooth taper for load transfer and exquisite rebound. This significantly improves lure control. The optimal rebound force allows the rod to optimally push the lure through the water achieving a new level of "slippery" swimming sensation for plugs. Furthermore misdives are significantly reduced. The rod's drag width is reduced compared to previous models making it easier to retrieve the plug. With a jig-specific rod the load penetrates further forward resulting in a lighter jerk. In addition by changing the tip to that of a plug rod the jig's swimming is moderately suppressed supporting the input of actions that allow bluefish to bite obediently.

Concept 2 : Overwhelming fighting performance
In developing the DRAGGER we undertook a major overhaul of the power rankings of shore jigging rods. However with the BREAKTHROUGH a rock shore rod used by select advanced anglers the fight with the fish is truly a life-or-death struggle. To control a large fish during an extreme fight you need a strong butt section your last resort. By making the base section of the BREAKTHROUGH thicker we have secured even more rod power. This allows you to forcefully stop a violent first run gain control at the base and smoothly pull it out. This is a rod worthy of the select rock shoremen with bodies of steel and will not give up control even to large fish.
