It is not usually recommended to use any tighter than a modified (factory half) choke with steel shot. Now, you can, and receive far superior results! 
You will find the patterns are far superior than the factory chokes, especially in the lower-budget end shotguns, and more than compatible in the upper-end brands.

Conical, parallel design reduces flyers; installs easily without a wrench (a final tightening with a choke tube wrench is recommended to prevent the choke tube from loosening while shooting). 

It is not recommended to use these chokes with Federal Black Cloud or Remington Hypersonic Steel ammunition.
