The 110 Folding Hunter holds a significant place in knife history. Created in 1963 by Al Buck, it addressed the need for a sturdy, lockblade knife for outdoorsmen who preferred not to carry a long, fixed-blade knife. This revolutionary design combined the strengths of existing folding knives with reliable locking mechanisms, resulting in a product that quickly became an industry leader. Over 50 years later, the Model 110 remains one of America's best-selling knives, a testament to its enduring quality and functionality.

420HC Steel

Buck's standard blade material, 420HC Stainless Steel, offers an excellent balance of properties. It approaches the wear resistance of high carbon alloys while providing the corrosion resistance of chromium stainless steels. Combined with Buck's exclusive heat-treat process, this steel delivers superior corrosion resistance, excellent strength for wear resistance, and impressive durability. It is also notably easy to resharpen, ensuring optimal performance. For best results, Buck hardens the blade to a Rockwell hardness of Rc 58.

Clip Blade

The clip blade features a crescent tip, which makes the blade thinner with a sharper point. This shape provides precise control for detailed work and allows for cutting in tight spaces. It is also well-suited for intentional punctures, such as creating new holes in a belt. While highly effective for detail-oriented tasks, the point of a clip blade is not as strong as the thicker points found on drop point or skinner blade designs.
