Product Description
Hornady ELD Match (Extremely Low Drag Match) projectiles are technologically advanced, enhanced accuracy target projectiles designed for superior performance in competitive shooting and hunting scenarios. Featuring Heat Shield tips with a perfect meplat (tip point), these projectiles combine numerous design features to deliver the highest-in-class ballistic coefficients, exceptional accuracy, and extreme consistency from projectile to projectile, and lot to lot.
Superior accuracy and industry-leading ballistic design have been achieved with the ELD Match projectile. An optimum secant ogive and boat tail design, along with the Heat Shield tip, produce a projectile with the highest possible ballistic coefficient in its class.
| Best-in-Class BCs | The Heat Shield tip is immune to the effects of aerodynamic heating and retains its shape to provide a perfect meplat (tip) that is always the same shape, ensuring consistent ballistic performance. |
| Highest Degree of Accuracy and Consistency | A streamlined secant ogive with an optimum boat tail design, combined with highly concentric AMP® (Advanced Manufacturing Process) projectile jackets and the Heat Shield® tip, creates a supremely accurate, high BC match projectile. |
| Accurate, Doppler Radar Verified BCs | ELD Match projectile ballistic coefficients are measured with Doppler radar and corrected to standard atmospheric conditions, providing reliable and precise data for long-range shooting. |
| The Perfect Tip | The innovative Heat Shield tip creates the perfect meplat and consistently outperforms traditional BTHP (Boat Tail Hollow Point) projectiles. |
In 2012, Hornady engineers embarked on a mission to create a new projectile. The primary goal was to develop a hunting projectile that performed exceptionally well across all practical distances. While many projectiles work effectively from 0-400 yards, few excel beyond that, and none previously offered optimal performance at both conventional and extended ranges.
This led to the introduction of the Heat Shield tip, a single tip technology used in two distinct projectile lines. By extending your range, you never have to compromise on performance at any distance. Hornady engineers, utilising state-of-the-art aeroballistics software, Doppler radar, and decades of projectile performance knowledge, have developed an entirely new class of projectile for the discerning shooter.
