Overview
The Howa Mini Action Stainless Steel Varmint .223 Rem is a specialised rifle built upon the renowned Howa 1500 platform. Engineered for shorter cartridges like the .223 Remington, .204 Ruger, and 6.5 Grendel, this Mini Action rifle offers optimised performance for hunters and sport shooters seeking precision and reliability.
By scaling the action down to be approximately 12% shorter than a standard "Short Action", Howa has crafted a lighter rifle that provides faster cycling, perfectly sized for the .223 Rem cartridge. This bolt-action rifle, in its Stainless Steel Varmint configuration, combines this compact action with a heavy-contour, weather-resistant barrel. It is an excellent choice for accurate pest control and hunting in diverse outdoor conditions, including wet or coastal environments, ensuring consistent accuracy when it matters most.
- Mini Action: The Howa Mini Action features a significantly shorter bolt throw (approximately 6" long) than a standard rifle, enabling faster follow-up shots. This provides a considerable advantage when engaging multiple targets, such as rabbits or goats, during hunting or pest control, enhancing efficiency in the field.
- Stainless Steel Construction: Both the receiver and barrel are crafted from stainless steel, providing superior corrosion resistance compared to standard blued steel. This makes the rifle ideal for various hunting conditions, particularly in wet or coastal environments, ensuring long-lasting durability and performance.
- Varmint Barrel Profile: The heavy (#6 contour) barrel offers increased stiffness over a standard sporter barrel, which significantly enhances accuracy. It also dissipates heat more slowly, allowing for more consistent shots before the point of impact begins to shift, crucial for precision varmint hunting and extended range sessions.
- HACT Trigger: This Mini Action rifle features Howa's 2-stage HACT (Howa Actuator Controlled Trigger), widely recognised as one of the finest factory triggers available. It delivers a crisp, light, and consistent pull for improved shooting precision with your Howa .223, contributing to tighter groupings.
- Picatinny Rail: This rifle comes with a one-piece Picatinny rail installed, offering a robust and rigid platform for securely mounting scopes. This provides greater flexibility in achieving optimal eye relief for your Howa Mini Action .223 setup, accommodating a wide range of optics.
