Product Description
Construct the ultimate long-range rifle with this Lothar Walther Stainless Steel Barrel Blank. Chambered in .284 calibre (7mm), this blank combines legendary German precision with the durability required for high-intensity magnum cartridges.
This barrel provides the perfect metallurgical foundation for building a custom rifle in powerhouse cartridges such as the 7mm PRC, 28 Nosler, 7mm Rem Mag, .280 Ackley Improved, or 7mm SAUM.
While older 7mm barrels used 1:9" or 1:9.25" twists, this blank features a fast 1:8" twist rate. This is the modern standard required to stabilise today’s ultra-high Ballistic Coefficient (BC) projectiles. This twist rate is essential if you plan to shoot heavy bullets ranging from 175gr up to 195gr+ (such as the Hornady ELD-M, Berger EOL, or Sierra MatchKing), ensuring they remain stable and accurate out to extended distances.
1. World-Class German Engineering Lothar Walther has been setting the standard for barrel manufacturing since 1925. Their proprietary button-rifling process creates internal dimensions with extremely tight tolerances, ensuring uniform bullet stability, consistent velocities, and minimal gas blow-by.
2. Premium Stainless Steel Crafted from high-grade Stainless Steel, this barrel offers superior resistance to throat erosion. This is particularly important for high-performance 7mm magnums, which can be hard on barrels. The stainless construction ensures your accuracy lasts longer compared to standard chromoly options.
3. Stress-Relieved for Consistency Every blank undergoes a specialised stress-relief process. This prevents point-of-impact shifting (walking) as the barrel heats up during rapid fire strings or long strings of fire in F-Class competition.
4. The Gunsmith’s Choice Supplied as a cylindrical blank, this unit offers maximum versatility. It provides ample material for your gunsmith to turn down to your preferred contour—whether you need a heavy bull barrel for maximum stability or a fluted sporter profile for a mountain hunting rifle.
