The secret to the smooth reeling feel of the new Ocea Conquest lies in the combination of micro-module gears and Infinity Drive. By combining the micro-module gears which tightly mesh precision gears with Infinity Drive which supports the pinion gear from the inside with the spool shaft rotational resistance is reduced further improving the renowned silky reeling feel. It is now possible to sense information such as changes in water currents and fish bites more sensitively. The reduced height allows for a more natural grip reducing angler fatigue. This fit combined with the reduced rotational resistance provided by the Infinity Drive system further improves operability and sensitivity. The newly equipped NEW fall lever features a new shape for superior operability allowing for instant more precise fine-tuning. Furthermore a new mechanism ensures that reeling does not become heavy even when the fall lever is tightened maintaining sensitivity during the fall. The unique lever allows for easy and precise control of fall speed.

Shimano's "Fall Lever" is designed to allow easy and accurate adjustment of the fall speed which was previously difficult to do. This allows for strategic fishing depending on the situation such as a fast fall speed in the middle of the water or a slow fall speed near the bottom.

A lure's fall (sinking) is a crucial action for attracting fish.Traditionally fall speed was adjusted by thumbing (applying the brake to the spool rotation with the thumb) but because it was done manually uneven pressure was an issue.
