Shimano Baitrunner OC Spinning Reel

The Shimano Baitrunner OC Spinning Reel is a highly regarded choice for anglers seeking a dependable and versatile reel for diverse fishing conditions. Building on a storied heritage, the Baitrunner OC series offers an enhanced angling experience, proving itself as a valuable asset for both seasoned and aspiring fishermen. This reel excels in popular techniques such as straylining and live baiting, providing the precise control and robust durability essential for challenging environments.

At the heart of its design is the renowned Shimano Baitrunner System. This innovative feature allows a fish to take the bait and run freely without feeling immediate resistance, significantly improving the chances of a successful hook-up. With a simple turn of the handle, the main drag system engages smoothly and instantly, providing immediate and precise control over your catch. This seamless transition from free-spool to fight mode is a defining characteristic of Baitrunner reels, making them a preferred option for targeting powerful species.

The OC series incorporates significant modern upgrades from its predecessors, including Varispeed Oscillation for superior line lay, particularly beneficial with braided lines, and Propulsion Line Management for longer, more accurate casts and reduced line tangles. These advancements, combined with its heavy-duty construction, ensure consistent and reliable performance across various fishing scenarios.

• Shimano Baitrunner System: Allows fish to take bait and run freely, preventing premature drops, with instant main drag engagement upon handle turn for precise control.
• XT-7 Composite Material Construction: Engineered for exceptional durability, designed to endure the rigours of harsh inshore and offshore saltwater conditions, ensuring consistent performance.
• Propulsion Line Management System: Features a specially designed spool lip that provides longer casting distances while preventing backlashes and wind knots.
• Varispeed Oscillation: Creates an even and consistent line lay on the spool, crucial for optimal casting performance and managing various line types, including braided lines.
• Fluid Drive 2 Gearing: Enhances the efficiency and smoothness of the retrieve, providing more power and reducing friction under load.
• Dyna Balance: Eliminates wobble during the retrieve by counterbalancing the rotor, resulting in increased sensitivity and a smoother operation.
• Super Stopper 2: Utilises a one-way roller bearing to eliminate back-play, providing instant hook-setting power.
• Main Drag System: Delivers smooth and consistent pressure, essential for tiring out strong fish effectively.

The Baitrunner OC spinning reel series is offered in a comprehensive range of sizes, including the compact 4000, versatile 6000, popular 8000, and the powerful 12000 for targeting larger species.
