At the core of the Beretta 1301 Competition Pro's rapid performance is the ultra-tested gas system with a rotating head B-Link closure system, offering a 36% faster cycling speed than other semi-automatic shotguns. This ensures reliable and accurate operation, even with lighter loads, round after round.

Reloading is made effortless and swift, critical for competition scenarios. The 1301 Competition Pro features an oversized 3.5" stock chamber, which facilitates cartridge loading. The enlarged loading gate and a lifter system that remains raised during loading operations create a smooth "chute" for ammunition, preventing thumb pinching and enabling quick, efficient quad-loading. Further enhancing speed, the cocking handle and bolt release lever are oversized, contributing to faster reloads during intense shooting.

The shotgun's design focuses on shooter comfort and stability, crucial for maintaining accuracy. The new polymeric stock incorporates the Kick-Off Plus system, featuring two elastomer dampeners with return springs that significantly mitigate the initial recoil peak, reducing perceived recoil by up to 40%. Crafted from Beretta's exclusive tri-alloy steel (Ni, Cr, Mo) through deep drilling, cold hammer forging, and vacuum distension, the barrel features an elongated 80 mm double forcing cone. The internal profile of the OptimaBore HP barrels is designed and tested to ensure excellent ballistic results with all ammunition types, including lead, steel, and High Performance steel. This results in consistently dense and perfect pattern distributions. The shotgun is supplied with three interchangeable OptimaChoke HP Black Edition choke tubes, allowing shooters to adjust the choke to suit various competition requirements. A 10x8 stepped rib with a fibre optic sight and mid-bead sight ensures optimum target acquisition.
